Moments in nature captured through my lens while strolling, squatting
and occasionally stretching down on the forest floor with my loyal Sony Alpha.
Behind the Lens
I was born in the USSR and spent my childhood summers running through the meadows around the Vologda River, helping my family with their vegetable garden. As I grew up, the Russian dacha surroundings were replaced with Eastern Finnish woods and lakes. Summer nights became even shorter, and slow winter sunsets painted everything in soft blue colours. For as long as I can remember, nature has brought me a sense of joy and peace of mind, making me forget my troubles and the passage of time... which got me into trouble again when I came home late.
Nowadays, I am based in the Black Forest, mainly getting inspiration from my immediate surroundings. I take photos on my evening strolls around the neighbourhood or just in our garden. When I'm behind the camera, I don't compromise or worry, and every photo is a true and honest reflection of me and the way I see the world.
